Concrete grinding, cutting,
and surface preparation produce hazardous silica dust that must
be captured at the source. Professional contractors
typically use high-CFM HEPA dust extractors designed for
continuous power tool dust collection.
A proper dust extraction system includes a
dust guard, anti-static hose, and a HEPA vacuum with sufficient
airflow to capture airborne concrete dust. For most angle
grinders and hand tool, a vacuum producing
approximately 150 CFM of airflow provides the suction needed to
maintain OSHA silica dust compliance.
