• The price of the vacuum relates to its performance 
• Hose blockage
• Tank is full

The actual cause is usually much simpler:

As the dust reaches the vacuum's cartridge filter, it begins filling the microscopic openings in the filter media.

Airflow drops.
Suction drops.
Dust collection performance drops.

Eventually, the worker must stop and clean the filter.

Most manufacturers advertise:

AUTOMATIC FILTER CLEANING

Unfortunately, there is a limitation.

Most portable silica dust extractors contain:

• 8 - 17 gallon tanks

• Small cartridge filters

• Limited filter surface area

While reverse pulse cleaning helps, the filter is still being asked to process massive quantities of ultra-fine dust.
