The XL 5-PCD Cutter (shown above without the diamond wear bar), is able to cut deeper, making it possible to remove even the toughest and thickest coatings.

XL 5-PCD Cutter with the Diamond Bar (left) - recommended for most coating removal applications.

Without the diamond bar, a PCD segment is capable of leaving deep grooves in concrete (similar to a cheese-grade effect), and are not recommended to be used on floors that are to be polished.

For coating removal on floors that are to be polished, or to simply control the depth-of-cut, the PCD with the diamond bar is the preferred choice.
