Silicone Sealer for Masonry & Concrete

• Solvent-based, reacts and penetrates into the substrate, providing the highest level of sealer protection - provides a slightly glossier look vs. EC 101 WB

• Forms a uniform, long lasting, water repellent coating on pavers, concrete surfaces, brick and split faced block

• Sealer enhances the surface without leaving the surface slippery when used on horizontal surfaces

• Efflorescence problems can be dealt with even after the coating has been applied

• Protects from water, normal wear, and some food and oil stains.

  • Ready to use, no dilution or mixing is required or recommended

  • Apply at a rate of 200 sq. ft. per gallon

• Application:  airless-sprayer or brush roller

• A single coat is enough to have the desired result provided the product has been applied correctly.

Description

The majority of building materials are porous.  Water may penetrate these pores.  When water freezes in winter the ice that forms can induce cracks in the material.

In nature this freeze-thaw process turns hard-rock into sand in the course of time.  In the presence of water, salts contained in the masonry as well as mineral binders are subject to transport and chemical reactions.

It is important to mention that damage to buildings is not only caused by the natural weathering but also by high air pollutant concentrations.  High emission concentrations, especially in industrial areas, have dramatically increased the damage to mineral substrates.

Physical, chemical or biological damage to buildings is always to a major extend due to the presence of water.  The simple rule applies:    the application of water repellent agents means building protection.
